Every three months, the SICA team funds a selection of cutting-edge projects to address diverse social problems and civic initiatives that may lead todemonstrable positive change. Finalists are eligible for up to $25,000 in resources to realize their projects.

Grants for Research and Policy Advocacy Specialists
Transparency Advocacy Grants
Transparency Advocacy Grants range from $10,000 and $25,000 and are designed to promote critical issues, such as the right to information, anticorruption oversight, gender and inclusion, citizen participation, and proper use of natural resources. Project proposals should focus on multi-stakeholder approaches, testing innovative partnerships, influencing anti-corruption measures, and planning of state and local budgets and civic oversight.

Policy Research Grants
Policy Research Grants collect, synthesize and disseminate independent analysis needed for informed policy and decision-making. Grants support applied policy analysis of national, regional or municipal governmental policies or programs, and may take a variety of approaches, including providing evidence for policy development through social research, highlighting gaps or barriers in current policy frameworks or approaches in state programs, legislation or regulations, and helping develop new policies and priorities.Think tanks, research organizations, and independent researchers from Central Asia are eligible to receive up to $10,000 in funding.

Institutional Development Grants are available to participants of the Institutional Development Program. Participants engage with specialists to identify necessary steps to improve the sustainability and constituent focus of their organizations. Successful applicants for Institutional Development Grants propose activities to address these identified gaps and are eligible for up to $40,000 in funding for their projects.
